Who is Rocky Road Apparel?
Rocky Roal Apparel is a mental-health-inspired apparel company with one goal: to create clothing that looks good and starts real conversations about mental health.
It's Okay to not be okay
Whether it’s a simple reminder to take a deep breath or a bold statement about mental health, our clothes are here to inspire self-care, resilience, and openness.
More than an apparel company
Every piece in our collection is inspired by real stories of people overcoming struggles and growing stronger. We want to break the silence around mental health and show that it’s something we all should be talking about.
It's cool to give AF
You never know what anyone is going through; being a good person costs nothing. We’re here to lift each other up and remind ourselves that no one has to walk this journey alone.
Our Backstory
For those of y’all who know me, y’all know I’ve been a graphic designer for over 12 years and I pour everything I have into everything I do.
Mental health is a topic near and dear to me for many personal reasons. I’ve worked for great companies, I’ve made good money, but it always cost me more than it paid. The burnout, anxiety, doubt, ugly ass voices…I’ve felt it all.
I remember numbly driving to work one day and I saw a car pass by that had a bumper sticker with a message on it. I can’t remember exactly what it said, but I remember it being exactly what I needed to hear at that moment. That was the day that made me pick up the phone and reach out to a therapist.
There was no “honk if I made your day” or anything of the sort for the driver of that car to get an ego boost for doing “something nice.” And I fucking love that. Just doing something pure for the sake of helping someone else, with no way to be validated or praised.
That’s where this all started. As a designer I knew I could do something similar within the bubble that I know…apparel.
Most of our apparel has the option to leave a positive message on the back of your shirt for strangers behind you to see.
You’ll have no clue if it’s making a difference, and we intentionally left the Rocky Road logo off the back so that our ego isn't stroked either.
We’re not looking for clout or recognition. It’s about selflessly helping others who may need it the most.
The best part?? All you have to do is put on a shirt.
Much Love,
Justin from Rocky Road
